D-Day: In Normandy Explore olds bunkers, tanks and Atlantic wall defences along the five beaches: Utah, Omaha, Juno, Gold and Sword while museums and memorials throughout the region stand as forceful reminders of this decisive period of the WW2.

Western Front: the battlefields of the Somme are located in the beautiful, rural landscape of the region of Picardy from St. Quentin in the east, through Amiens and on to the coast. Visit the preserved battle sites and the many cemeteries and monuments to those who fought and those who died in action.

The Loire Valley boasts a large number of historical monuments including its majestic châteaux along the river, which takes us on a journey through the major and minor events in French history.

PALAIS DES PAPES AVIGNON

Overlooking Avignon and the Rhône River, the Rocher des Doms presents an exceptional set of monuments including the Saint Bénezet Bridge, the Ramparts, the Petit Palais, the Cathedral and the impressive walls of the Popes’ Palace flanked by four mighty towers. The Palace of the Popes stands as the mighty symbol of the church’s influence throughout the western Christian world in the 14th century.
